+) I'll let him have it.

+) I am waiting for the right moment to let him have it big time. 
    나는 그 녀석을 한번 혼내 주려고 벼르고 있다
I thought Mom and Dad were really going to let him have it, but as usual, I was wrong.(21p)




















*bug 괴롭히다, 귀찮게 하다, (가벼운) 유행성 질병
But the thing that bugs me the most about Manny is the nickname he has for me.
And he STILL calls me that now, even though I keep trying to get Mom and Dad to make him stop.
*close call 위기일발, 구사일생, 아슬아슬한 상황
I have had some really close calls.(22p)


Mom makes me help Manny get ready for school in the morning.
*get on 계속하다, 진척하다
Mom is always getting on me about not finishing my breakfast.

I am SUPER good at video games.

He's always getting on me about going out and doing something "active."
Mom is always getting on me about not finishing my breakfast.
*hassle 재촉하다, 들볶다, 귀찮은 상황[일]

So tonight after dinner when Dad started hassling me about going outside.(24p)





















*dismantle 분해하다, 해체하다(=break)
*parent-proof 어른들이 다룰 수 없게 만든

I'm sure Dad would dismantle my game system if he could figure out how to do it. But luckily, the people who make these things make them parent-proof.(25p)

Anyway, after I got done mopping the floor with Rowley today, I headed home.

    # when Dad started hassling me about going out side, I tired to explain how with video games, you can play sports like football and soccer, and you don't even get all hot and sweaty. But as usual, Dad didn't see my logic.

    His dad looks it up on some parents' web site.
    get sick of 질리다
    I 'm getting sick of playing Fourmula One Racing with Rowley.
    - fall to pieces 다 허물어지다
    He just falls to pieces.
    - seem ~ 인것 같다. ~처럼 보이다.
    It never seems to end.
    That seemed to do the trick for Dad
